- adapted Schul's effort-based training regimen to meet the conditions and racing schedule of the FL Gulf Coast
- Founded ECRT's sister club, Five Rivers Running Team (Dayton, OH), in 2007

ECRT's TRAINING REGIMEN:
- Effort-Based Training
- - short periods of stress, followed by rest, is the key to increased fitness
- - workouts will leave you tired, but not so tired you can not do the same workout in one or two days
- Tempo Runs
- - teaches the athlete to run relaxed at efforts closer to racing
- - teaches the body to use lactate more efficiently
- Long, Steady Distance
- - develops cardiovascular, mental and muscular systems
- - speeds slower than racing or training efforts
